Emeric J. McDonald
Managing Partner, Octane Capital
Mr. McDonald is the founder of Octane Capital Management, an investment management firm focused on investing in emerging technology companies. Prior to Octane, Mr. McDonald was the Director of Private Equity Research at Amerindo Investment Advisors and Co-Portfolio Manager of the Amerindo Technology Fund (ATCHX). While at Amerindo, he led investments in 25 private companies, which resulted in 14 IPOs. Prior to Amerindo, Mr. McDonald worked at Robertson Stephens Investment Management. Mr. McDonald's experience also includes management, technical and consulting roles at various companies including Synopsys, Hewlett-Packard and Intuit. He holds a B.A. in Computer Science from Dartmouth College and an M.S. in Computer Science from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign.

As a Principal with Panorama Capital, Mr. Jung focuses on investments in enterprise software and internet related opportunities. Prior to joining JPMP, Mr. Jung was Vice President of Corporate Strategy and Development at the Exigen Group, a global provider of business process solutions for companies in the services industry. At Exigen, Mr. Jung managed the company's day-to-day business development activities. Prior to Exigen, he served as Vice President of Strategic Corporate Development at Ask Jeeves, a leading internet and enterprise search company, where he led the company's mergers and acquisitions and strategic partnership efforts. Mr. Jung began his career advising a variety of high technology companies both as an investment banker with BancBoston Robertson Stephens and as an attorney with Gunderson Dettmer. He holds a JD and an MBA from the University of Michigan and a BA in Political Economy of Industrial Societies from the University of California at Berkeley.

Mr. Van Auken has mentored entrepreneurs interested in building strong corporate organizations since joining Mayfield in 1986. His combined operating and financial expertise enables him to assist management in optimizing both market opportunities and company valuations. As a partner at Mayfield, Mr. Van Auken has led investments in a wide range of technology arenas. He currently serves on the boards of Avent Software, Global English, and Skystream.
Before joining Mayfield, Mr. Van Auken had a distinguished career as founding officer, executive, and/or CEO for three startups in diverse industries: Sunset Designs, Systems Industries, and Infinitek, all of which went public or were successfully merged. He started his career in manufacturing operations at Hewlett Packard. Mr. Van Auken earned an M.B.A. from Stanford and a B.S. in Electrical Engineering from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute.
