Job Title: Software Quality Engineer
Department: Software Quality Engineering

Reports to: Director, Software Quality Engineering

We are looking for a Software Quality Engineer who will be responsible for testing products developed by the software engineering department. The Software Quality Engineering department's charter is to certify that Instill's software products and services meet the needs of our customers. This individual is expected to work both independently as well as with teammates at remote sites, perform white-box testing, and contribute to the improvement of SQE processes and practices.

Responsibilities:
• Develop detailed test plans for each product release
• Execute tests and document all results clearly and accurately
• Help create and maintain a robust testing environment
• Provide feedback on both business and technical issues for Product Management and Software Engineering
• Work with the distributed teams comprising both on-site and remote personnel
• Contribute to and help improve SQE processes and practices to maximize the department's productivity

Skills Required:
• Experience in software quality assurance, including the development and implementation of test plans, standards, white-box testing, automation, and quality metrics
• Technical knowledge in the following areas: Business Intelligence, Database fundamentals, ETL, PL/SQL, Oracle, Weblogic, XML, Java technologies (JSP, EJB and servlets) and UNIX. Experience with SQL query optimization, performance tuning is a plus
• Experience with the full software development life cycle, including multiple product release from an SQE perspective
• Ability to work in a distributed team across the globe
• Strong verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills; ability for technical report writing and conveying in-dep
• th technical topics to others
Proven problem-solving and technical debugging skills
• Minimum of 2 years of professional experience in software engineering or software quality assurance
Qualifications:
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field (MS preferred )
